Fashion Spotlight: Sophie Webster

Sophie Webster 1
If you’re looking for some whimsical and fantasy worthy accessories, let me introduce you to Sophia Webster. One word that describes her collection of party-ready shoes and handbags: FUN.  The kind of fun that makes all your other shoes seem boring in comparison.  The kind of shoes that make you ask yourself, “Where have you been all my life?”.   Why wouldn’t you want to throw on a pair of sunset printed sandals or circle stacked heels?
The best part is that each shoe and accessory makes a statement.  Whether it’s an ankle strap, sequin-sprayed sandal with a patent leather bow, or neon-splashed PVC slingbacks, one thing is for sure – these are not for those that take life too seriously.

You wanna know what I’m loving?

I’ve been loving the Dior’s Runway looks on the models! It’s very minimal, but very glammed up! The eye make up has a slight crease-cut, and a winged eyeliner, along with a clean finished eyebrows!

Makeup artist Pat McGrath adorned models’ lips with red gemstones for a look that was very reminiscent of ruby red slippers. This sparkling take on lipstick might look complicated, but in terms of a DIY, it’s easier to test out at home than the newest nail art trend.

To get this look, you’ll want to adhere tiny gemstones overtop of a tinted lip. Traditional lipstick will be too slippery—instead go for something without a sticky texture or added shine, like a lip stain.  Let the lip tint dry for a few minutes before you start adding the sparkle. Now the fun part: use eyelash adhesive, and start to stick the gemstones to your lips. You will need two sizes of gemstones, the slightly smaller size for the outline and bigger to fill in your lips. Add the gems to the outline of your lips first and then fill them in. Also note that the lips at Dior have an almost exaggerated bow, so if the gemstones sit slightly outside your natural lip line, that’s okay.

The key to making the Dior gemstone lip last is all in the timing: this look is ideal for a night out where no eating is involved—and preferably one where any drinking can be done through a straw. Think you’ll try this at home? Share pictures if you do!

DIY: Cute Glass Containers!

I’m here today with a new DIY idea! I just LOVE DIY projects! Apart from the fact that you could revamp old stuff, you actually can have fun with it, (atleast I know I do!)

So let’s get this started!

Image

You will need:

  • An old brush.
  • Glitter (Colour of your choice).
  • Some heavy duty crafts glue. (Suitable for glass)
  • Glass container of your choice.
  • A safe workplace.
  • A towel.
  • Old Plate.

Image

First off, peel off any stickers, and  wash the glass container very thoroughly, then wipe the container till dry with a towel. This is to ensure that the glue has a good and clean base to stick on to.

Image

Unseal the glue cap.

Image

Use the plate to pour a generous amount of glue, then pour in the glitter and mix well, until you obtain a good consistency. If the glue is too runny, add more glitters, and if it’s too chunky, add more glue.

Image

Get your brush, and dip it into the mixture that you’ve prepared, and paint the insides of the container. Paint even strokes to ensure so you avoid gaps. Voila! ImageImage

Now, make sure to give your container at least 24hrs to dry completely!

This is a really easy DIY, and a very good way to glam up your room. I use these containers to store little nicknacks, like bobby pins, hair bands, makeup brushes, etc. It keeps my things organized, much, much better.

I hope you enjoyed this! Do try it out and show me what you came up with!

Love Always,

Shamma x.

Off goes 2012, In comes 2♡13 ~

I know, I’m kinda late on my New Year’s post, and that’s because I wasn’t home at NYE. So excuse my lack of posts, but I will be posting lots soon (Europe trip, etc.)!

So it’s January again, and am not really big on New Year’s Resolutions and stuff, becuase I never stick to them anyways! So why plan any?! However, this year, I will set up easy little baby plans to follow (which I will post at the end), but for now? I’d like to thank all my friends, my classmates, my family, my loved ones, and the people who did me wrong too. Without my friends and classmates, I wouldn’t have had the fun times that I cherish at this moment. Without my family, I wouldn’t have had the support and love I have now. Without my loved ones, I wouldn’t have the courage to accept my flaws. Without the people who did me wrong, I wouldn’t have learned a lot of valuable lessons and most definitely, I wouldn’t have known how to set my priorities right!

2012 was a year, that I don’t think I would ever want to repeat again. Even though the good memories are plenty, I’m sorry to say that the bad experiences over-shadows them. I think that, what happened in 2012, stays in 2012, and I’m not allow myself to feel bad about anything that happened this last year. But I also believe that, I shouldn’t be thankful for all the blessings, ups, downs, new friends,  shared moments, and the talented people I’ve got to discover and see their work. So, my highlights for the past year were:

  • Meeting the famous actor ‘Hamad ElOmany’ ‘حمد العماني’. Which was actually some what awkward. But it was fun because I had my best friend with me! (Shout out to Mariam!)
  • Discovering my love for poetry and literature.
  • Meeting some of the most closest people to my heart! (Shout out to Fay!)
  • Starting a blog? Definitely.
  • Eating my first beef burger since 6 years? I just had to try Shake Shack! Hahahaha
  • Having my first ever professional facial! (Thanks sis ‘A’)!
  • Getting my Mac Book!
  • Subscribing to a monthly beauty box!
  • All the fun trips ( Only my close friends will know this!)
  • Visiting Hitler’s Camp in Dachau.
  • 24/9/2012, Monday.
  • Losing close people that were close to my heart.

However, on the bright side, my goals are:

  • Make new memories.
  • Try to exercise for 20 minutes each day.
  • Try to keep up with my school work.
  • Put myself before others.
  • Get a second ear piercing. 😦
  • Read more books.
  • Go back to doing yoga.
  • And last but not least, enjoy every moment that comes along, and to learn every lesson 2013 has to offer.

Let’s hope I stick to these. It’s really simple Shamma. You can do it.

Love Always,

Shamma x.
